Art History Guide

The art history guide can be used for all ages as an art appreciation course
or a history course. As an art appreciation course, it can be used to study
major artists throughout history or to study the artists of a particular
country, continent, time period, or art movement. As a history course, it can
be used to study the artists and their work in relation to the events of a
particular country, continent, or time period. The entire course will take
1-3 years, depending on the methods you choose. The guide contains the following:
- Table of Contents
- Master list of almost 200 artists, from ancient
history to 1900, with birth and death dates, art movement, country, medium,
and common subjects listed for each
- Lists of artists by subject, country, and art
movements, with each artist numbered for easy reference to the master list
- Artist research forms, at two levels of difficulty,
with instruction sheet for completing the more difficult one.
- Time line of art movements
- Rubrics for student and parent evaluations and a
grade worksheet
- Study guides and tests for each century, from the
15th to the 19th

of famous artwork, artist information and biographies, activities based on
artists and their work, pictures of famous artwork, and other resources
of interest
- Rubrics for evaluating student work
